Jesus. He’s all that really matters. He comes first. Everything else is secondary. Everything else is minor in comparison. Jesus said, “I am the way the truth and the life, no one comes to the father except through me.” In this world, it is all about Jesus. It’s not about doctrine or theology. It’s not about religion or good works. It’s not about tradition or rituals. It isn’t about denominations, creeds or laws. It’s not about styles of worship, baptism, communion, church government or eschatology. It is simply about Jesus.
Our faith is based on the identity, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. In the final analysis, He is all that matters. His identity is God in the flesh. His sacrificial death made Him our savior, and if He has in fact been raised from the dead, it proves He is the living God. His salvation is perfect, in and of itself. We cannot add to or subtract from what He has already done. The first priority is to learn who Jesus was and get to know Him. Our relationship with Christ is the most important aspect of our faith. Everything else is either secondary or a minor detail, but Jesus is first.
